The Big "One"

Ava had her first birthday yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Obviously it was more fun for Matt and I than it was for Ava, but either way, it was a lot of fun. Matt had to work a grave Tuesday night, so he called me on Wednesday morning on his way home and told me to wait to feed Ava breakfast cuz he wanted to make her a Birthday Breakfast. When he was growing up, his mom would always make them a Birthday Breakfast, so he made her french toast and eggs. It was really cute!

Later that night, we had the big Birthday Bash. Matt's parents made the trek from Heber, and Ben and Tania came from Provo, and my Grandma and Grandpa Desmond were able to make it as well as my family. It was quite the little party. I made her a Care Bear cake that she dug right in to and the kids had cupcakes and ice cream cups and the adults had ice cream cake. She got tons of toys and fun presents! Then she partied late into the night playing with all her fun toys and living off her sugar high.

Happy Birthday Ava! It sounds like all of you enjoyed a fun day.
I love the pictures of Ava with her cake, Jen. I wish my kids were as interested in their cake and ice cream as Ava. Both Marissa and Derek didn't like the feeling of the frosting on their fingers or the ice cream in their mouths. Two year old birthdays are a little more fun for us at our house.
Congratulations! You have a beautiful one year old.

Yea! Happy Birthday Ava! Can you believe our babies are one? Well, mine will be soon anyway. You did a great job on the cake! That is so sweet Matt made Ava breakfast. Good luck with moving this weekend..super fun! I am going out tomorrow (Saturday) for the General Relief Society meeting in my moms (and your) stake, and doing the dinner thing before...so if you're there I will see you! If not, we should still get together. You'll have to e-mail me your phone number I think you have it, but just in case: kellyrclegg@gmail.com
