I can never think of anything to put as the title of my posts, because most the time its "catching up" or "more pictures". So this post is catching up with a lot of pictures :) Matt and I went down to Cedar City. I sure do love Cedar City! We haven't been back down there since we moved about a year ago, so it was a lot of fun. We were able to visit some of our friends while we were there and it was just so great!! It made me miss those Cedar days!
This is him and Ava on one of our favorite trails in Cedar, it's a paved bike/walking trail that starts at a park and goes up the canyon and goes to two different waterfalls, it's so pretty and such a fun little walk.

We also did a hike in Snow Canyon. Funny enough, I lived in Cedar for 7 years and never once made it to a hike
in Snow Canyon, I'd been around it and even hiked along the outer edges, so we decided to do this hike called Three Ponds, and it was SO pretty! Ava fell asleep in the backpack about 10 minutes into the hike, so she enjoyed it too! :)

We stopped to take a break before we headed back and this is Ava showing us
her hiking skills!

My pictures never post in the order I want them too, so I'm just explaining as I go this time. But Nanny (my mom) gave Ava a bunch of jewelry in her easter basket and she LOVES to wear it, so this is her with her clip on earrings and necklace. I thought it was cute. She was happier than the picture depicts...

I also had a play-date with my old roommate Leslie and my other old-roommate turned sister-in-law Esther. We went to a school playground with all our little girls and this is a picture of them on the playground. They were really cute! It was fun to get together with them!

This is Ava on Easter Sunday, my family always had a tradition when we were younger where we would roll easter eggs down a hill. Apparently that tradition is not shared by all families because Matt looked at me like I was crazy when I told him of my plans. Matt is always thinking that our holiday "traditions" are weird! Like last Valentines when I told him we were gonna drop off Valentines at my sisters' houses and he didn't understand why I was putting the stuff on the doorstep and then running away. And when my parents did the same thing at our house I had to explain to him that they weren't doorbell ditching. I thought that was something most kids did on valentines day. Apparently Valentines with the Desmond family was a whole new experience for him. I thought it was pretty funny! So anyway, this is her after rolling some Easter eggs down the hill, (she got it!)

This is her not smiling for the camera. I made her this easter dress. I've decided that if I can make one dress a year for her, I'll be doing good, and here's this years attempt. It was actually really fun and my mom was able to help me a lot and teach me in the ways of the master seamstresses. I even did a zipper in the back, that was a big deal for me. The only problem was, we took a picture of Ava when she was coloring her eggs and the red-eye reduction was on so it flashed a whole bunch of times and apparently scared her, so we couldn't get her to open her eyes and smile, she still cries when we say "Say Cheese" She's going to blame us for a lot when she grows up.

Here's her Easter eggs.

And here's an attempt at a picture after the above described red-eye disaster. That little purple thing with the yellow button was how we colored eggs and it is how we will color eggs for the rest of our lives. It was so nice, she loved to push the button, cuz it was just like her little toy where she pushes the button and the balls spin around, so she would put the egg in, and I'd put in some dye, and then she'd push the button (with a little help) and viola! Colored eggs, with no spilling and very minimal mess and clean up. Totally worth the five dollars if I have to buy it again every year!!!

And this...this is one of my favorites. We went to a community Easter Egg hunt which was a joke, but they had the Easter bunny there, so I knelt down beside her and pointed to the bunny, and she walked up to him all brave and then I said turn around so that I could geta picture and as soon as the bunny touched her, this is what happened. It's a way sad cry face, but it was really funny! She'll have a lot to tell her therapist when she grows up. :)

So I think I'm caught up but my camera is currently not working, I know, my brand new camera is broken, so I'll probably not be posting for a little while, I'm sure all you out there in blogger world will miss me so, but alas, I will be back...

Poor Ava! She didn't want to be left all alone to take a picture with a huge bunny. Derek would have had the same reaction.
I love Ava's easter dress. So cute.
oh i love those pictures! she is so grown up. I loved the pic of her and the easter bunny (don't worry it scares me too). It was fun doing that play date and we definetely need to do another one!
